msdm: mobile strategies of display & mediation

This is such a cool tromplel’oeil invite to the new AREA 10 exhibition, designed by Teresa Paiva of Artery Arts Projects (Artery are: Teresa Paiva, Anila Ladwa and Monica Miranda), everyone I hand it too has a laugh at the board-in pass smart hack.

I will be showing a selection of images from the project NO OFFICIAL BUILDINGS NO LOCAL PEOPLE NO OIL FACILITIES (Saudi Arabia, London), a collaboration with Marcel Tolbarin, printed with the kind support of Chris Packham.

About the exhibition
The character of Peckham as an area in a state of constant flux through movement of people from all over the world has inspired the theme of this event. Over 60 artists will contribute to this show over 3 nights with their own DESTINATION. Artists have explored travel, the real and the virtual, tourism and tours, displacement, migration, movement of people through urban landscapes, soundscapes, memories, past identities and the shape of new identities, ideas of space, physical and political territories, relationships between people, cultural boundaries, globally warmed eclectic and Balearic beats.

Area 10, a former timber warehouse, will be turned into a visual and sonic oasis of installations, visual art, live acts, aerial performance, film, bands and DJ’s, opera, sound art and much more.

DESTINATION is part of the Camberwell Arts Festival 2007 and has been coordinated by Area 10 Project Space in collaboration with Resonance FM radio station and Artery Arts Projects, who are fundraising for their organisations.
