cctvecstasy explores the webcam as performative space. Exposure, micro-celebrity, sexuality, voyeurism, pleasure, intimacy and performance of the self, are some of the elements that bring in together webcam girls, horny techno geeks, and bored housewives, in the wider context of the war on terror and amateur webporn fantasy.


Developed as a site-specific performance for webcamnow.com- one of the oldest webcam-chat online communities- the work grew out of a unique approach to collaboration, after weeks of online rehearsals, developing a visual and textual language that pushes the aesthetics and sociality of the webcam beyond familiar terrain.

In front of a live audience, a performer (cctvecstasy), zaps through different live channels, projecting images and words of encounters –planned and impromptu-taking place live in webcamnow.com.
