At the invitation of Claudia Schneider and Mireille Ribiere, I’m joining the 2018 edition of Joburg Fringe in Johannesburg, showing a new edition of Paintball Field at the Victoria Yards. For the first time in its 11-year history, the Joburg Fringe – Johannesburg’s artist-run, 100% independent, annual art fair – will not coincide with the official Joburg Art Fair. As ever, the Joburg Fringe aims to encourage a culturally diverse art audience by offering fresh, dynamic, original work at affordable prices, displayed in accessible, inclusive art spaces. Entry is free and the exhibiting artists will be present to meet the public and discuss their work. This year curated highlights will be showcased at The Art Room in Parkhurst, which will act as the central hub for the event. From here people will be directed to various satellite spaces around the city where the works will be exhibited.
