msdm 1  is a publishing studio founded by paula roush 2. The studio produces photography exhibitions, books and limited editions. The studio is now based at UNit8 in a 1982 warehouse that used to be a print workshop by the Bow Locks/ River Lea (East London).

 

1  the acronym msdm is mother sister daughter meow (today) and  mobile strategies of display & mediation (yesterday)

 

2 paula roush is an artist and educator born in Lisbon and based in London. Her work is conceptually placed between between the biographical and the social and formally embodies both new and traditional media. She mixes archives and orphan photographs with her own photography, and  contextualises such tangible material through negotiable agencies and subjective memories. She is a Fulbright alumni and a lecturer at the London South Bank University.

By Tube
Bromley-by-Bow tube station (District Line and Hammersmith and City Line) is a 5 minute walk. When you come off the station take the underpass to Gillender Street and walk south until you reach the Navigation Road. Entrance to the estate is right after, in Gillender Street.
By Bus
The 488 and 108 stop near the Tesco’s superstore. The 25 and 8 stop at Bow Road. All a short walk away. D8 stop Twelve trees crescent is by the Estate’s gate.
By Road
From the Blackwall Tunnel Approach (A12), southbound, take the slip road to Gillander Street. From Devon Rd> Devas Street, take the under Blackwall Tunner Approach (Twelve Trees Crescent) to Gillander Street. Visitors may use the estate’s car park
