St Charles’s project is well underway. It is an ACAVA commission to make new photographic work for the St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing in the Ladbroke Grove area, West London. I am working with St Charles College art students (fine arts, textiles and photography) and their tutors. We’re producing a site-specific photographic project based around the St Charles Centre, to explore the poetics of the everyday in the area, investigate the relationship of space to memory and uncover fragments of the history of the place that document processes of urban transformation and represent personal responses to the space. The exhibition will feature several photographs produced specifically for the Centre as well as a collection of photobooks published as part of the project. The opening reception at St Charles Centre is scheduled for early June.
