KNEELING (MEMORIAL GARDENS)
Three “photographic rubbings” made with graphite crayons
on toner monochromatic prints (80gsm Bond paper).
They are hand-embossed imprints of inscriptions of the names
of the workers of Gas Light & Coke Company dead in the World Wars I and II.
The black and white powder texture is the result of graphite used to rub the stones
in the memorial garden, in the centre of which a gas lamp burns constantly.

Photographs and rubbings done kneeling and installed knee level 46cm from the floor
SIze each photographic rubbing: 59,4 x 84,1cm (62 X 88 X 2.5 cm boxed)
Photography: paula roush with additional artwork by ina
Handmade and painted wood frame perspex boxes: GBH
