msdm is the acronym for mobile strategies of display & mediation,  and is  a platform for artists sharing an interest for photographic research in exhibitions, editions and publications. The studio-gallery is currently based at UN8, a 1982 warehouse and former print workshop by the Bow Locks/ River Lea (East London).  The space’s tactical collaborations  revolve around publishing, workshops and curatorial projects both at UN8 and abroad.
msdm was founded by Lisbon-born, London-based photographer and educator paula roush. In addition to her own photographic works,  paula leads the Found Photo Foundation,  dedicated to the preservation of orphan photographs. She lectures Art Photography and Photobook Publishing at the School of Arts and Creative Industries (London South Bank University) and is a visiting tutor at the University of Westminster, London and the National Academy of the Arts, Oslo.

Artist-run project and programme of exhibitions, workshops and publications. Founded in 2016, it aims to provide a research framework for photographic art as publishing practice. Throughout the history of the project there has been a questioning of how artists, photographers and publishers can experiment with and develop critically reflexive forms of exhibition practice for photobookworks. Projects have taken on various formats ranging from installations and presentations in institutions, and the production of editions through commissions and collaborative formats. This work has been shown nationally and internationally at All Inked up Kentʼs International Artist Book & Print Event UCA Canterbury & The Brewery Tap Folkestone, KHiO Publishing Studio Oslo National Art Academy, PRINTed #4 Singular publications EINA Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art, UAB Autonomous University of Barcelona and Arts Llibre Worshop ESDA LLotja Escola d’Arts i Oficis de Barcelona, Spain.
