msdm a nomadic house-studio-gallery for photographic art and curatorial research, an expanded practice of the artist's book, photobook publishing and peer-to-peer collaboration created by contemporary artist paula roush
Workshop: Books (Are Wells) of (Living) Water
Organized in collaboration with the the Photography students at LSBU for their degree show
In this workshop led by paula roush we explore the art of creating hand-made books contact printed in local bodies of water. We'll dive into the ancient suminagashi technique, marbling bound books by immersing them in water. Unlike traditional marble papers used as endpapers, our 'watery publications' transform the entire book into a bookwork.
