WITH THE SUPPORT OF:

at the London South Bank University
Godsbanen
The Instituto Camões
and the Embassy of Portugal in Denmark
Collective project that emerged out of Aarhus Photobook Week [+] and publishing practices explored during page-turner workshop [+], including a shared love for photography in boxes and mobile publishing practices.
The exhibition 'Box. Unbox' is based on differently collected, photographic material: found and orphan photographs and negatives with anonymous people, landscapes, stories, and references. Using different methods, we have unboxed the photographs to learn about their secrets and to unfold hidden stories. We have acted as archaeologists of photography, conducted historical and technical research, carried out different experiments, changed formats and introduced things and processes - analogue and digital.
The found, anonymous photographs now arise in a new context, form
and materiality.
