PHOTOBOOK WORKSHOPS AT ST CHARLES COLLEGE

Final book dummies of the ST Charles project, an ACAVA commission to make new photographic work for the St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing in the Ladbroked Grove area, West London. I collaborated with  St Charles College art students (fine arts, textiles and photography) and their tutors to produce a site-specific photographic project based around the St Charles Centre. These are the amazing first photobook dummies produced during the second workshop, experimenting with sequencing of the images and bookbinding techniques. Views of some of the books created by Chloe, Monet, Amy, Eden, Sundus, Jack, Kavita, Dominika and Zainab. They explore the poetics of the everyday in the area, investigate the relationship of space to memory and uncover fragments of the history of the place that document processes of urban transformation and represent personal responses to the space.
