01 — SOBRE
Sou artista, investigadora e editora. Desenvolvo uma investigação de longo prazo sobre ecologias da mediação: a forma como o conhecimento se transforma quando muda de suporte, circulando entre imagem, publicação, arquivo, território, corpo e tecnologias. A minha prática desenvolve-se através da msdm — mobile strategies of display & mediation, uma plataforma editorial e de investigação que opera como estúdio móvel, arquivo vivo e ecologia experimental de mediação.
Trabalho entre fotografia, publicação, instalação, caminhada, cartografia, práticas botânicas e sistemas computacionais, entendendo-os não como disciplinas distintas, mas como formas interligadas de produzir, transformar e partilhar conhecimento. Interessa-me o que acontece quando uma fotografia se torna livro, um livro se torna caminhada, uma caminhada se torna herbário, ou quando um arquivo se prolonga numa instalação, numa oficina ou num sistema computacional.
Nos últimos anos, a minha investigação tem-se centrado nas relações entre imagens, arquivos, espécies vegetais e ecossistemas, explorando a forma como co-produzem narrativas de lugar, cuidado e memória. Projectos como Liquid Memories, Follow Y/Our River e One Green Eye the Other Blue (Herbarium of the Anthropocene) articulam publicação, trabalho de campo, experimentação fotográfica e práticas colaborativas.
Entendo a publicação como uma prática expandida: uma infraestrutura através da qual texto, imagem, matéria, tempo e tecnologia se podem organizar como formas de investigação, pensamento e partilha. A msdm constitui a infraestrutura móvel através da qual esta investigação se desenvolve, atravessando diferentes meios, lugares, comunidades e formas de conhecimento.
01 — ABOUT
I am an artist, researcher and publisher developing a long-term practice around ecologies of mediation: how knowledge changes as it moves across media, circulating between images, publishing, archives, territories, bodies and technologies. My practice unfolds through msdm — mobile strategies of display & mediation, a publishing and research platform operating as a mobile studio, living archive and experimental ecology of mediation.
I work across photography, publishing, installation, walking, mapping, botanical practices and computational systems, approaching them not as separate disciplines but as interconnected ways of producing, transforming and sharing knowledge. I am interested in what happens when a photograph becomes a book, a book becomes a walk, a walk becomes a herbarium, or when an archive continues through an installation, workshop or computational system.
In recent years, my research has focused on relationships between images, archives, plant species and ecosystems, exploring how they co-produce narratives of place, care and memory. Projects such as Liquid Memories, Follow Y/Our River and One Green Eye the Other Blue (Herbarium of the Anthropocene) bring together publishing, fieldwork, photographic experimentation and collaborative practices.
I understand publishing as an expanded practice: an infrastructure through which text, image, matter, time and technology can be organised as forms of research, thinking and sharing. msdm provides the mobile infrastructure through which this research unfolds across different media, places, communities and forms of knowledge.
