msdm publications is an artist-run editorial platform founded by paula roush, operating at the intersection of artistic practice, research, and publishing.
We approach publishing not as a fixed format, but as an expanded artistic methodology — where books, installations, workshops, and archives function as interconnected forms of image-making and knowledge production.
Our work focuses on vernacular photography, image ecologies, and the afterlives of photographs, exploring how images circulate, are displaced, and reconfigured across social, material, and cultural contexts.
Rather than producing closed objects, msdm develops open editorial structures that invite manipulation, participation, and reactivation, extending the life of images through collective processes.
Based in Lisbon and working internationally, msdm collaborates with artists, researchers, and local communities, contributing to contemporary debates around publishing, photography, and the politics of the image.
